Deep cleaning is recommended for homes that have not had a good cleaning in the last six months. It reaches the deep grime and dirt in your home.
Regular cleaning involves vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, and other everyday tasks. Even though these steps keep your home looking good and smelling good, it will still get progressively dirty. This is because regular cleaning only covers a few superficial areas that accumulate dust and dirt. However, performing deep cleaning tasks every few months can help keep your home much cleaner. Deep cleaning tasks include cleaning behind furniture and appliances, washing windows, and scrubbing walls and floors. Doing so will help keep your home clean for extended periods.
Deep Cleaning Checklist
Kitchen
- Dust trim, ceiling, windows, fan blades, light fixtures, above cabinets, wall decor, door frames, and takedown cobwebs.
- Clean window sills and tracks, dust blinds, clean window glass interior only if in reach).
- Wipe down walls and clean baseboards
- Clean light fixtures, switches, covers, and door knobs
- Clean inside and outside cabinets and drawers.
- Scrub grease from kitchen cabinets and polish.
- Clean backsplash and counters
- Deep clean kitchen appliances, dishwasher, stove, oven, and refrigerator
- Clean dishwasher ( run empty with vinegar and baking soda)
- If possible, move the refrigerator and stove and clean behind
- Clean the hood vent
- Clean backsplash and counters
- Clean table and chairs
- Wash and disinfect garbage cans
- Clean floor
Bedrooms
- Dust trim and ceiling,
- Clean light fixtures, switches, covers, and door knobs
- Clean window sills and tracks, dust blinds, clean window glass interior only if in reach).
- Wipe down walls and clean baseboards
- Move(if possible) and vacuum under and behind the beds and furniture.
- Polish furniture
- Clean drawers and closets
- Wash the pillow shams, comforters, mattress cover, and bed skirts (if they are washer machine safe)
- Vacuum floor
Living Area
- Dust trim, ceiling, windows, fan blades, wall decor, door frames, and takedown cobwebs.
- Clean light fixtures, switches, covers, and door knobs
- Clean window sills and tracks, dust blinds, clean window glass interior only if in reach).
- Wipe down walls and clean baseboards
- Clean fireplace area, dust rocks, and mantel.
- Vacuum furniture (under couch cushions)
- Vacuum under furniture (if possible, move to vacuum under and behind).
- Wash living room/decor pillow covers if they are washer machine safe.
- Clean & inside and outside drawers and polish furniture.
- Clean floor
Bathroom
- Dust trim and ceiling
- Clean light fixtures, switches, covers, and door knobs
- Clean window sills and tracks, dust blinds, clean window glass interior only if in reach).
- Wipe down walls and clean baseboards
- Wash fabric bathroom curtains if they are washer machine safe.
- Wash bathroom rugs if washer machine safe
- Scrub grout from the bathroom
- Scrub bathtubs and shower
- Clean shower walls, doors, tracks, and top rail.
- Scrub and disinfect the toilet around the base, under-seat, and hinges.
- Clean inside all bathroom drawers and de-clutter.
- Clean vanities and sinks, polish faucets and mirrors. (inside of medicine cabinets)
- Wash the liquid soap container or soap dish.
- Clean exhaust vent fans.
- Clean floor
